From Ken:
Hi!
I graduated from Carlmont High in '59 and attended BYU for a year. From '61-'63 I became fluent in Spanish while serving a mission in Mexico. Returning to BYU, I graduated in '66, with a Psychology major and a double minor in Education and English.

I met Jane Carlson on Valentine's Day in '64, and we've been happily married since that September. We have 9 children and, as of 6/12/09, we have 31 grandchildren!

In McLean Virginia, the government taught me computer programming for 2 1/2 years. Then I worked for IBM in San Jose California and Eastern Iowa for 10 years as a Programmer and Systems Engineer. I have been working for the LDS Church in Salt Lake City Utah for 29 years as a Programmer and a computer Project Manager.

I love to fiddle with our computers and read and hike and talk to strangers on the bus.

I would like to reconnect with some of my old friends and hear their stories too!

From Roger:

After graduation I went to the College of San Mateo with Bill Gough, Rick Melrose and some others and then moved on to U.C.Berkeley, where I roomed one year with Russ Davis.  I earned a B.A in Physiological Psychology and then an M.A. in English.  I got my first training in radical activism during the Free Speech Movement, and I stlll follow those causes as a member of the ACLU, Amnesty International, Move-On, Code Pink and the Oak Park Coalition for Truth and Justice.

I was a college Engligh Teacher for three years in Ohio and then went back to school at the Universityof Illinois for a Ph.D in English.

I spent seven years as a college English Teacher (loved it) and then switched to Information Technology for the next 30 years. (Loved the first 10, pretty much hated the last 20).

Now I am retired but still participate in actions, demonstrations and seminars on various progressive causes.  I have five children, four of whom are girls (Once I learn how to do something, I never forget).  Three of my daughters are shown in the attached "before picture" I reluctantly sold my Ducati 900 last year, and gave up playing Rugby (which I played for 35 years) at age 63.

Like most Rugby players, and motorcycle riders, I am no longer married.

50 years!  It was great visiting with you last night.  Thank you for letting us know about the web site as we didn't even think to check for it.

I've been married twice.  Once unsucessfully, once very happily.  Currently I live 3 miles from my surviving child and her 3 beautiful children.

It took me a long time to earn my SJSU degrees:  BA in Anthropology at age 40,  MA in TESOL at age 55.

I worked for Santa Clara County's Social Service Agency, primarily in the Appeals Unit before switiching to the best job I ever held--teaching English as a Second Language in Adult Education.

Lester and I retired to move to St. Louis when my second grandchild made her appearance there.  It's a move that we've never regretted.

We are happily retired in San Jose, close to our kids and two grandchildren. I had a wonderful career as a Paralegal and Legal Administrator, both in the D.A.'s office and then in private practice, but was happy to give it up when I closed the last of several law firms a few years back. Now we volunteer in our local community and travel as often as we can.  My sister, Claudia (class of '61), lives in Vienna so we have enjoyed visiting her. I don't think it gets much better than this!

Was at CHS for only half my junior and all my senior year but always felt welcome.  Sports (football and track) and a great girlfriend (Penny Remmers) will do that for you.

Took a long time to get out of college with stops in Fresno with Ed Giampoli and Lee Rosemeyer and Mexico City with Eric Dixson but finally earned a BS and a wife at San Jose State.

Most of my working career was in travel and hospitality, primarily Hawaii and Mexico,  although I now work in sales in a retirement community.  Anyone interested?

Although my belly belies it, I have completed 2 Ironman triathlons in Kona, a dozen or so marathons and 5 50 milers.  No mas! Now I'm a wannabe golfer.

Due to a wedding I might only be able to join you on Thursday night, to be determined.  See you then and there.

Go Scots!!!!!!!!
